CRMA Annual Awards Luncheon
2020 – Seizing Opportunities Amidst Uncertainty
During this historic and transformative time for our industry, CRMA remains steadfast in our resolve to advocate for and partner with retail businesses all across Connecticut. Now, more than ever, it is essential that we stay informed, stay connected and work together.
The CRMA Educational Conference & Virtual Annual Meeting, held on November 19, 2020, brought retailers, elected officials and industry leaders together to discuss what’s ahead in 2021. “Seizing Opportunities Amidst Uncertainty” was a well-attend event that offered a range of perspectives and a glimpse of efforts underway and anticipated in the coming months.
If you weren’t able to attend, the video of the 2-hour event is available for viewing here.

The federal perspective was provided by U.S. Senator Chris Murphy.
Insights into the state of the retail industry across the U.S. were shared by Matt Shay, president and CEO of the National Retail Federation and Brian Dodge, president of the Retail Industry Leaders Association.
State Capitol journalists Chris Keating of The Harford Courant, Christine Stuart of CTNewsJunkie, and Kevin Rennie, co-host of Face the State and Hartford Courant columnist, discussed changes in the make-up of the Connecticut Senate and House after the 2020 elections.
The Annual Meeting was co-hosted by CRMA Board Chair Abby Jewett and CRMA President Tim Phelan.
The Annual Meeting concluded with a brief video highlighting the efforts of Connecticut retailers during 2020, produced for CRMA by Mind Over Media.
